History of the Lost State of Franklin
Published in Hardcover by The Overmountain Press (March, 1994)
Average review score:

The Beginning of States RightsI found this book to be excruciatingly detailed about the movement of people to the west in an attempt to escape the overpowering influence of an omnipotent federal government. It's words demonstrated that a people steeped in the idea of freedom can come together to create a government. For those who are interested in the history not found in academic texts, this is real eye opener. Buy it. Read it. Learn from it.

The Huddled Masses: The Immigrant in American Society, 1880-1921
Published in Paperback by Harlan Davidson (January, 1982)
Average review score:

Great perspective on the immigrant experience.Wow! I was required to read this book for a history course, but was amazed at the depth and feeling that is gleaned from the immigrant experience. Whether for education, entertainment, or if you would like to gain perspective on ancestral roots, I highly recommend this book. In a semester of drab, boring history reading, this book stood out!

I Fought With Geronimo
Published in Paperback by Univ of Nebraska Pr (November, 1987)
Average review score:

He lived from the Stone Age to the Atomic Age!A fascinating story of a "wild" Indian who made his way successfully through the various stages of his life: from the unfettered freedom of the mountains, to the tenuous search for refuge in a hostile environment, through the confinement of the reservation, to the peaceful contentment of Christian love. Jason tells the remarkable story of his life from 1860 to 1959 with self-effacing honesty. He will certainly blur, if not erase, the stereotypical image of the "Hollywood" Apache.

IBN's International trade and business GuideJust completed exploring many references in planning to develop a business in Africa and maybe the Carribean. IBN's International Guide was the most comprehensive and user friendy reference that I found. It was very organized and specific, including the names and telephone numbers of contacts. The author was excellent in his research and breadth of information. It is very much worth the price.

The Illustrated Encyclopedia of Fairies
Published in Hardcover by Vega Books (June, 2003)
Average review score:

The Best!I bought this book when it first came out in the UK. I have been fascinated by fairies all my life and I really wanted a book that dealt with true fairy mythology, rather than children's fairy stories of the Peter Pan variety. This book brings togther fairy legends and lore from all over the globe and I was forced to think about fairies in a new light. Not all fairies are good, and not all fairies are pretty, but oh, don't they all have a fascination for us! I have never seen such a big dictionary of fairies, with about 3000 entries. The pictures are wonderful, sometimes beautiful, sometimes awe inspiring, sometimes glamourous and sometimes frightening, just like the fairies themselves. And I for one wouldn't have them any other way!
